قَالَ قَرَأْتُ عَلَى عَبْدِ الرَّحْمَنِ : مَالِكٌ عَنْ أَبِي الزِّنَادِ عَنِ الْأَعْرَجِ عَنْ أَبِي هُرَيْرَةَ أَنَّ رَسُولَ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ قَالَ إِذَا نُودِيَ لِلصَّلَاةِ أَدْبَرَ الشَّيْطَانُ وَلَهُ ضُرَاطٌ حَتَّى لَا يَسْمَعَ التَّأْذِينَ فَإِذَا قُضِيَ النِّدَاءُ أَقْبَلَ حَتَّى إِذَا ثُوِّبَ بِالصَّلَاةِ أَدْبَرَ الشَّيْطَانُ وَلَهُ ضُرَاطٌ حَتَّى لَا يَسْمَعَ التَّأْذِينَ حَتَّى إِذَا قُضِيَ التَّثْوِيبُ أَقْبَلَ يَخْطِرُ بَيْنَ الْمَرْءِ وَنَفْسِهِ يَقُولُ اذْكُرْ كَذَا اذْكُرْ كَذَا لِمَا لَمْ يَكُنْ يَذْكُرُ حَتَّى يَظَلَّ الرَّجُلُ إِنْ يَدْرِي كَمْ صَلَّى.
English Translation
He said: I read to Abd al-Rahman: Malik, from Abu al-Zinad, from al-A'raj, from Abu Hurayrah, that the Messenger of Allah, peace and blessings be upon him, said: "When the call to prayer is made, Satan turns his back, breaking wind loudly so as not to hear the adhan. When the call is finished, he comes forward; then when the iqamah is called, he turns his back again, breaking wind so as not to hear it; and when the iqamah is finished, he comes forward to whisper between a man and himself, saying, 'Remember this, remember that,' about things he did not used to remember, until a man does not know how much he has prayed."
