حَدَّثَنَا أَبُو مُعَاوِيَةَ قَالَ حَدَّثَنَا الْأَعْمَشُ وَابْنُ نُمَيْرٍ قَالَ أَخْبَرَنَا الْأَعْمَشُ الْمَعْنَى عَنْ أَبِي صَالِحٍ عَنْ أَبِي هُرَيْرَةَ قَالَ قَالَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ أَثْقَلُ الصَّلَاةِ عَلَى الْمُنَافِقِينَ صَلَاةُ الْعِشَاءِ وَصَلَاةُ الْفَجْرِ وَلَوْ يَعْلَمُونَ مَا فِيهِمَا لَأَتَوْهُمَا وَلَوْ حَبْوًا وَلَقَدْ هَمَمْتُ أَنْ آمُرَ الْمُؤَذِّنَ فَيُؤَذِّنَ ثُمَّ آمُرَ رَجُلًا يُصَلِّي بِالنَّاسِ ثُمَّ أَنْطَلِقَ مَعِي بِرِجَالٍ مَعَهُمْ حُزُمُ الْحَطَبِ إِلَى قَوْمٍ يَتَخَلَّفُونَ عَنْ الصَّلَاةِ فَأُحَرِّقَ عَلَيْهِمْ بُيُوتَهُمْ بِالنَّارِ.
English Translation
Abu Mu'awiyah narrated to us, he said: al-A'mash narrated to us - and Ibn Numayr said: al-A'mash informed us, with the same meaning - from Abu Salih, from Abu Hurayrah who said: The Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) said: "The heaviest prayers for the hypocrites are the Isha prayer and the Fajr prayer. If they knew what is in them, they would come to them even if crawling. I have been tempted to order the muezzin to call the adhan, then order a man to lead the people in prayer, then go with men carrying bundles of firewood to people who stay away from the prayer and burn their houses down with fire."
