حَدَّثَنَا مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ جَعْفَرٍ قَالَ حَدَّثَنَا هِشَامٌ عَنْ مُحَمَّدٍ عَنْ أَبِي هُرَيْرَةَ عَنْ النَّبِيِّ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ أَنَّهُ قَالَ مَنْ هَمَّ بِحَسَنَةٍ فَلَمْ يَعْمَلْهَا كُتِبَتْ لَهُ حَسَنَةٌ فَإِنْ عَمِلَهَا كُتِبَتْ لَهُ عَشْرُ أَمْثَالِهَا إِلَى سَبْعِ مِائَةٍ وَسَبْعِ أَمْثَالِهَا فَإِنْ لَمْ يَعْمَلْهَا كُتِبَتْ لَهُ حَسَنَةٌ وَمَنْ هَمَّ بِسَيِّئَةٍ فَلَمْ يَعْمَلْهَا لَمْ تُكْتَبْ عَلَيْهِ.
English Translation
Muhammad ibn Ja'far narrated to us, he said: Hisham narrated to us, from Muhammad, from Abu Hurayrah, from the Prophet (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) that he said: "Whoever intends a good deed but does not do it, a good deed is recorded for him. If he does it, ten to seven hundred times its like are recorded for him. If he does not do it, one good deed is recorded for him. And whoever intends an evil deed but does not do it, nothing is recorded against him."
