حَدَّثَنَا حَسَنٌ حَدَّثَنَا حَمَّادُ بْنُ سَلَمَةَ عَنْ مُحَمَّدِ بْنِ عَمْرِو بْنِ عَلْقَمَةَ عَنْ أَبِي سَلَمَةَ بْنِ عَبْدِ الرَّحْمَنِ عَنْ أَبِي هُرَيْرَةَ قَالَا قَالَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ لَمَّا خَلَقَ اللَّهُ عَزَّ وَجَلَّ الْجَنَّةَ قَالَ يَا جِبْرِيلُ اذْهَبْ فَانْظُرْ إِلَيْهَا فَذَهَبَ فَنَظَرَ فَقَالَ يَا رَبِّ وَعِزَّتِكَ لَا يَسْمَعُ بِهَا أَحَدٌ إِلَّا دَخَلَهَا ثُمَّ حَفَّهَا بِالْمَكَارِهِ ثُمَّ قَالَ اذْهَبْ فَانْظُرْ إِلَيْهَا فَذَهَبَ فَنَظَرَ فَقَالَ يَا رَبِّ وَعِزَّتِكَ لَقَدْ خَشِيتُ أَنْ لَا يَدْخُلَهَا أَحَدٌ فَلَمَّا خَلَقَ النَّارَ قَالَ يَا جِبْرِيلُ اذْهَبْ فَانْظُرْ إِلَيْهَا فَذَهَبَ فَنَظَرَ إِلَيْهَا فَقَالَ يَا رَبِّ وَعِزَّتِكَ لَا يَسْمَعُ بِهَا أَحَدٌ فَيَدْخُلُهَا فَحَفَّهَا بِالشَّهَوَاتِ ثُمَّ قَالَ يَا جِبْرِيلُ اذْهَبْ فَانْظُرْ إِلَيْهَا فَذَهَبَ فَنَظَرَ إِلَيْهَا فَقَالَ يَا رَبِّ وَعِزَّتِكَ لَقَدْ خَشِيتُ أَنْ لَا يَبْقَى أَحَدٌ إِلَّا دَخَلَهَا.
English Translation
The Messenger of Allah (peace be upon him) said: "When Allah, Mighty and Majestic, created Paradise, He said: 'O Jibril, go and look at it.' He went and looked at it and said: 'O Lord, by Your honor, no one will hear of it except that he will enter it.' Then He surrounded it with hardships and said: 'Go and look at it.' He went and looked at it and said: 'O Lord, by Your honor, I fear that no one will enter it.' When He created the Fire, He said: 'O Jibril, go and look at it.' He went and looked at it and said: 'O Lord, by Your honor, no one who hears of it will enter it.' Then He surrounded it with desires and said: 'O Jibril, go and look at it.' He went and looked at it and said: 'O Lord, by Your honor, I fear that no one will remain except that he will enter it.'"
