حَدَّثَنَا حَسَنُ بْنُ مُوسَى وَعَفَّانُ قَالَا حَدَّثَنَا حَمَّادُ بْنُ سَلَمَةَ عَنْ عَلِيِّ بْنِ زَيْدٍ عَنْ أَوْسٍ عَنْ أَبِي هُرَيْرَةَ قَالَ قَالَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ يُحْشَرُ النَّاسُ يَوْمَ الْقِيَامَةِ ثَلَاثَةُ أَصْنَافٍ صِنْفٌ مُشَاةٌ وَصِنْفٌ رُكْبَانٌ وَصِنْفٌ عَلَى وُجُوهِهِمْ فَقَالُوا يَا رَسُولَ اللَّهِ وَكَيْفَ يَمْشُونَ عَلَى وُجُوهِهِمْ قَالَ إِنَّ الَّذِي أَمْشَاهُمْ عَلَى أَرْجُلِهِمْ قَادِرٌ عَلَى أَنْ يُمْشِيَهُمْ عَلَى وُجُوهِهِمْ أَمَا إِنَّهُمْ يَتَّقُونَ بِوُجُوهِهِمْ كُلَّ حَدَبٍ وَشَوْكٍ.
English Translation
The Messenger of Allah (peace be upon him) said: "People will be gathered on the Day of Resurrection in three categories: one group walking, one group riding, and one group on their faces." They said: "O Messenger of Allah, how will they walk on their faces?" He said: "The One who made them walk on their feet is capable of making them walk on their faces. Indeed, they will shield their faces from every bump and thorn."
