حَدَّثَنَا يَزِيدُ أَخْبَرَنَا أَبُو جَنَابٍ يَحْيَى بْنُ أَبِي حَيَّةَ عَنْ شَهْرِ بْنِ حَوْشَبٍ سَمِعْتُ عَبْدَ اللَّهِ بْنَ عُمَرَ يَقُولُ لَقَدْ رَأَيْتُنَا وَمَا صَاحِبُ الدِّينَارِ وَالدِّرْهَمِ بِأَحَقَّ مِنْ أَخِيهِ الْمُسْلِمِ ثُمَّ لَقَدْ رَأَيْتُنَا بِأَخَرَةٍ الْآنَ وَلَلدِّينَارُ وَالدِّرْهَمُ أَحَبُّ إِلَى أَحَدِنَا مِنْ أَخِيهِ الْمُسْلِمِ.
English Translation
Yazid told us, Abu Janab Yahya ibn Abi Hayyah informed us, from Shahr ibn Hawshab: I heard Abdullah ibn Umar say: I have indeed seen us when the possessor of the dinar and dirham was no more entitled than his fellow Muslim; then I have indeed seen us later, now, when the dinar and dirham are dearer to one of us than his fellow Muslim.
