حَدَّثَنَا عُبَيْدَةُ بْنُ حُمَيْدٍ حَدَّثَنِي ثُوَيْرٌ عَنْ مُجَاهِدٍ عَنِ ابْنِ عُمَرَ قَالَ قَالَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ خُذُوا مِنْ هَذَا وَدَعُوا هَذَا يَعْنِي شَارِبَهُ الْأَعْلَى يَأْخُذُ مِنْهُ يَعْنِي الْعَنْفَقَةَ.
English Translation
Ubaydah ibn Humayd narrated to us: Thuwayr narrated to me, from Mujahid, from Ibn Umar, who said: The Messenger of God, peace and blessings be upon him, said: "Take from this and leave this" - meaning the upper lip, from which one trims, and the tuft of hair beneath the lower lip, which one leaves.
