English Translation
Aswad told us, Isra'il informed us, from Fudayl, from Mujahid, from Ibn 'Umar, who said: The Messenger of God, peace and blessings be upon him, delayed the night prayer one evening until the one who was praying had finished praying, the one who was awake had woken up, those who were asleep had slept, and those who kept vigil in the night had done so. Then he came out and said, "Were it not that I would burden my nation, I would have commanded them to pray at this time" - or "this prayer" - or something similar.
