English Translation
Hushaym told us: Yahya ibn Sa'id, Ubaydullah ibn Umar, Ibn Awn, and others informed us, from Nafi', from Ibn Umar, that a man asked the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him), "From where shall one enter the state of ihram?" He said, "The place of ihram for the people of Medina is Dhu al-Hulayfa; the place of ihram for the people of Syria is al-Juhfa; the place of ihram for the people of Yemen is Yalamlam; and the place of ihram for the people of Najd is Qarn." Ibn Umar said, "And the people made Dhat Irq equivalent to Qarn by analogy."
