حَدَّثَنَا مُحَمَّدٌ وَحَجَّاجٌ قَالَا حَدَّثَنَا شُعْبَةُ عَنْ قَتَادَةَ عَنْ أَبِي أَيُّوبَ عَنْ جُوَيْرِيَةَ بِنْتِ الْحَارِثِ قَالَتْ إِنَّ النَّبِيَّ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ دَخَلَ عَلَيْهَا فِي يَوْمِ جُمُعَةٍ وَهِيَ صَائِمَةٌ فَقَالَ لَهَا أَصُمْتِ أَمْسِ قَالَتْ لَا قَالَ أَفَتُرِيدِينَ أَنْ تَصُومِي غَدًا قَالَتْ لَا قَالَ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ فَأَفْطِرِي إِذًا.
English Translation
Muhammad and Hajjaj said: Shu'bah narrated to us, from Qatadah, from Abu Ayyub, from Juwayriyah bint al-Harith, who said: The Prophet (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) entered upon her on a Friday while she was fasting. He said to her: "Did you fast yesterday?" She said: "No." He said: "Do you intend to fast tomorrow?" She said: "No." He (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) said: "Then break your fast."
