حَدَّثَنَا هُشَيْمٌ عَنْ مُجَالِدٍ عَنِ الشَّعْبِيِّ قَالَ حَدَّثَتْنِي فَاطِمَةُ بِنْتُ قَيْسٍ أَنَّ زَوْجَهَا طَلَّقَهَا الْبَتَّةَ فَخَاصَمَتْهُ فِي السُّكْنَى وَالنَّفَقَةِ إِلَى رَسُولِ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ قَالَتْ فَلَمْ يَجْعَلْ سُكْنَى وَلَا نَفَقَةً وَقَالَ يَا بِنْتَ آلِ قَيْسٍ إِنَّمَا السُّكْنَى وَالنَّفَقَةُ عَلَى مَنْ كَانَتْ لَهُ رَجْعَةٌ.
English Translation
Hushaym told us, from Mujalid, from al-Sha'bi, who said: Fatimah bint Qays told me that her husband divorced her irrevocably, so she disputed with him over lodging and maintenance before the Messenger of Allah, peace and blessings be upon him. She said: He did not grant lodging or maintenance and said, "O daughter of the family of Qays, lodging and maintenance are due only to one whose husband has a right of return."
