English Translation
Husayn ibn Muhammad told us, he said Jarir - meaning Ibn Hazim - told us, from Yahya ibn Sa'id, from Yuhannas, that when Hamzah ibn Abd al-Muttalib came to Medina he married Khawlah bint Qays ibn Qahd al-Ansariyyah of Banu al-Najjar. He said: The Messenger of Allah, peace and blessings be upon him, used to visit Hamzah in her house, and she used to narrate hadiths from him, peace and blessings be upon him. She said: The Messenger of Allah, peace and blessings be upon him, came to us one day, and I said, "O Messenger of Allah, it has reached me about you that you say you will have on the Day of Resurrection a basin extending from such-and-such to such-and-such." He said, "Yes, and the people most beloved to me are those of your people who will drink from it." She said: So I brought forward to him a pot containing bread or a dish of porridge, and the Messenger of Allah, peace and blessings be upon him, put his hand in the pot to eat, and his fingers were burned, so he said, "Hass!" (an exclamation of pain), then he said, "Son of Adam - if cold afflicts him he says 'Hass', and if heat afflicts him he says 'Hass'."
