حَدَّثَنَا عَبْدُ الرَّزَّاقِ قَالَ حَدَّثَنَا مَعْمَرٌ عَنِ الزُّهْرِيِّ قَالَ حَدَّثَنِي حُمَيْدُ بْنُ عَبْدِ الرَّحْمَنِ بْنِ عَوْفٍ عَنْ أُمِّهِ أُمِّ كُلْثُومٍ بِنْتِ عُقْبَةَ قَالَ وَكَانَتْ مِنْ الْمُهَاجِرَاتِ الْأُوَلِ قَالَتْ سَمِعْتُ رَسُولَ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ يَقُولُ لَيْسَ بِالْكَذَّابِ مَنْ أَصْلَحَ بَيْنَ النَّاسِ فَقَالَ خَيْرًا أَوْ نَمَى خَيْرًا وَقَالَ مَرَّةً وَنَمَى خَيْرً.
English Translation
Abd al-Razzaq told us, he said: Ma'mar told us, from al-Zuhri, he said: Humayd ibn Abd al-Rahman ibn Awf told me, from his mother Umm Kulthum bint Uqbah — he said, and she was among the first emigrant women — she said: I heard the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) say: "The liar is not one who reconciles between people, so he speaks good or furthers good" — and he said once: "and furthers good."
