حَدَّثَنَا عَفَّانُ قَالَ حَدَّثَنَا حَمَّادُ بْنُ سَلَمَةَ قَالَ حَدَّثَنَا عَاصِمُ بْنُ بَهْدَلَةَ عَنْ سَوَاءٍ الْخُزَاعِيِّ عَنْ حَفْصَةَ زَوْجِ النَّبِيِّ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ قَالَتْ كَانَ النَّبِيُّ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ إِذَا أَوَى إِلَى فِرَاشِهِ اضْطَجَعَ عَلَى يَدِهِ الْيُمْنَى ثُمَّ قَالَ رَبِّ قِنِي عَذَابَكَ يَوْمَ تَبْعَثُ عِبَادَكَ ثَلَاثَ مِرَارٍ وَكَانَ يَجْعَلُ يَمِينَهُ لِأَكْلِهِ وَشُرْبِهِ وَوُضُوئِهِ وَثِيَابِهِ وَأَخْذِهِ وَعَطَائِهِ وَيَجْعَلُ شِمَالَهُ لِمَا سِوَى ذَلِكَ وَكَانَ يَصُومُ ثَلَاثَةَ أَيَّامٍ مِنْ كُلِّ شَهْرٍ الِاثْنَيْنِ وَالْخَمِيسَ وَالِاثْنَيْنِ مِنْ الْجُمُعَةِ الْأُخْرَى.
English Translation
'Affan told us, he said Hammad b. Salamah told us, he said 'Asim b. Bahdalah told us, from Sawa' al-Khuza'i, from Hafsah, wife of the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him), who said: When the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) settled into his bed, he would lie down on his right hand, then say, "My Lord, protect me from Your punishment on the day You resurrect Your servants" - three times. He used to keep his right hand for his eating, drinking, ablution, clothing, taking, and giving, and his left hand for whatever else was needed. And he used to fast three days of every month: Monday, Thursday, and the Monday of the following week.
