English Translation
Muhammad ibn Ja'far told us: Shu'ba told us: Ubayd al-Muktib informed me: I heard Abu Amr ash-Shaybani narrating from a man among the Companions of the Prophet, peace and blessings be upon him, who said: The Messenger of Allah, peace and blessings be upon him, was asked, "Which deed is best?" - Shu'ba said, or he said: The best of deeds is the prayer at its [proper] time, dutifulness to one's parents, and jihad.
