حَدَّثَنَا عَبْدُ الرَّزَّاقِ حَدَّثَنَا مَعْمَرٌ عَنْ عَطَاءٍ الْخُرَاسَانِيِّ حَدَّثَنِي عَبْدُ اللَّهِ بْنُ بُرَيْدَةَ عَنْ أَبِيهِ قَالَ قَالَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ إِنِّي كُنْتُ نَهَيْتُكُمْ عَنْ زِيَارَةِ الْقُبُورِ فَزُورُوهَا فَإِنَّهَا تُذَكِّرُ الْآخِرَةَ وَنَهَيْتُكُمْ عَنْ نَبِيذِ الْجَرِّ فَانْتَبِذُوا فِي كُلِّ وِعَاءٍ وَاجْتَنِبُوا كُلَّ مُسْكِرٍ وَنَهَيْتُكُمْ عَنْ أَكْلِ لُحُومِ الْأَضَاحِيِّ بَعْدَ ثَلَاثٍ فَكُلُوا وَتَزَوَّدُوا وَادَّخِرُوا.
English Translation
Abd al-Razzaq told us: Ma'mar told us, from Ata al-Khurasani: Abdullah ibn Buraydah told me, from his father, who said: The Messenger of Allah, peace and blessings be upon him, said: I had forbidden you to visit graves, but now visit them, for it reminds you of the Hereafter; and I had forbidden you the nabidh (steeped drink) of jars, but now steep it in any vessel and avoid every intoxicant; and I had forbidden you to eat the meat of sacrificial animals after three days, but now eat, provide for your journey from it, and store it.
