English Translation
Abu Mu'awiyah told us, from Layth, from Alqamah ibn Marthad, from Ibn Buraydah, from his father, who said: The Messenger of Allah, peace and blessings be upon him, said: The superiority in sanctity of the wives of those fighting in Allah's cause over those who stay behind is like the superiority of their mothers. There is no man who stays behind and takes the place of a fighter with his family, then betrays him regarding his family, except that he will be made to stand on the Day of Resurrection, and it will be said to him: This man betrayed you regarding your family, so take from his good deeds whatever you wish. He said: So what do you think of that?
