حَدَّثَنَا عَفَّانُ حَدَّثَنَا أَبَانُ حَدَّثَنَا قَتَادَةُ عَنْ سَالِمِ بْنِ أَبِي الْجَعْدِ عَنْ مَعْدَانَ بْنِ أَبِي طَلْحَةَ عَنْ ثَوْبَانَ أَنَّ رَسُولَ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ قَالَ مَنْ صَلَّى عَلَى جَنَازَةٍ فَلَهُ قِيرَاطٌ وَمَنْ شَهِدَ دَفْنَهَا فَلَهُ قِيرَاطَانِ قِيلَ يَا رَسُولَ اللَّهِ وَمَا الْقِيرَاطَانِ قَالَ أَصْغَرُهُمَا مِثْلُ أُحُدٍ.
English Translation
'Affan narrated to us, Aban narrated to us, Qatadah narrated to us, from Salim ibn Abi al-Ja'd, from Ma'dan ibn Abi Talhah, from Thawban, that the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) said: "Whoever prays the funeral prayer will have one qirat. And whoever witnesses its burial will have two qirats." It was said: 'O Messenger of Allah, what are the two qirats?' He said: "The smaller of them is like (Mount) Uhud."
