حَدَّثَنَا عَفَّانُ حَدَّثَنَا حَمَّادُ بْنُ زَيْدٍ حَدَّثَنَا أَيُّوبُ عَنْ أَبِي قِلَابَةَ عَنْ أَبِي أَسْمَاءَ عَنْ ثَوْبَانَ قَالَ قَالَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ إِنَّ اللَّهَ أَوْ إِنَّ رَبِّي زَوَى لِي الْأَرْضَ مَشَارِقَهَا وَمَغَارِبَهَا وَإِنَّ أُمَّتِي سَيَبْلُغُ مُلْكُهَا مَا زُوِيَ لِي مِنْهَا وَأُعْطِيتُ الْكَنْزَيْنِ الْأَحْمَرَ وَالْأَبْيَضَ وَإِنِّي سَأَلْتُ رَبِّي لِأُمَّتِي أَنْ لَا يُهْلِكَهَا بِسَنَةٍ بِعَامَّةٍ وَلَا يُسَلِّطَ عَلَيْهِمْ عَدُوًّا مِنْ سِوَى أَنْفُسِهِمْ فَيَسْتَبِيحَ بَيْضَتَهُمْ حَتَّى يَكُونَ بَعْضُهُمْ يَسْبِي بَعْضًا وَبَعْضُهُمْ يُهْلِكُ بَعْضًا وَلَوْ اجْتَمَعَ عَلَيْهِمْ مَنْ بَيْنَ أَقْطَارِهَا أَوْ قَالَ مَنْ بِأَقْطَارِهَا أَلَا وَإِنِّي أَخَافُ عَلَى أُمَّتِي الْأَئِمَّةَ الْمُضِلِّينَ وَإِذَا وُضِعَ السَّيْفُ فِي أُمَّتِي لَمْ يُرْفَعْ عَنْهَا إِلَى يَوْمِ الْقِيَامَةِ وَلَا تَقُومُ السَّاعَةُ حَتَّى تَلْحَقَ قَبَائِلُ مِنْ أُمَّتِي بِالْمُشْرِكِينَ وَحَتَّى تَعْبُدَ قَبَائِلُ مِنْ أُمَّتِي الْأَوْثَانَ.
English Translation
'Affan narrated to us, Hammad ibn Zayd narrated to us, Ayyub narrated to us, from Abu Qilabah, from Abu Asma', from Thawban, who said: The Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) said: "Indeed, Allah - or my Lord - gathered the earth for me, its east and its west, and the dominion of my nation will reach as far as what was gathered for me of it. I was given the two treasures, the red and the white. I asked my Lord for my nation that He not destroy it by a general famine, and that He not set over them an enemy from other than themselves who would annihilate them entirely, until some of them take others captive and some of them kill others. Even if those from all its regions were to unite against them. Indeed, I fear for my nation the misguiding leaders. And when the sword is placed among my nation, it will not be lifted from it until the Day of Resurrection. And the Hour will not come until tribes of my nation join the polytheists, and until tribes of my nation worship idols."
