English Translation
Waki' narrated to us: Sufyan narrated to us, from Salama, from Iyad ibn Iyad, from his father, from Abu Mas'ud, who said: The Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) delivered a sermon to us; he praised Allah and extolled Him, then said, "Among you are hypocrites; whomever I name, let him stand." Then he said, "Stand, so-and-so; stand, so-and-so; stand, so-and-so," until he had named thirty-six men. Then he said, "Among you" — or "from you — so fear Allah." He said: Umar then passed by a man among those named, who was veiled and whom he knew, and said, "What is wrong with you?" He told him what the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) had said, so Umar said, "Away with you, for the rest of the day!" Abu Nu'aym narrated to us: Sufyan narrated to us, from Salama, from a man, from his father — Sufyan said, I think he is Iyad ibn Iyad — from his father, from Abu Mas'ud, who said: The Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) delivered a sermon to us, and he mentioned something of similar meaning.
