English Translation
Ibn Numayr told us, Hajjaj ibn Dinar al-Wasiti told us, from Abu Ghalib, from Abu Umamah, who said: The Messenger of Allah, peace and blessings be upon him, said: "No people went astray after guidance they were upon except that they were given to disputation" -- then he recited: "They did not strike it for you except in argument; rather, they are a contentious people." Ya'la told us, Hajjaj told us, the like of it.
