حَدَّثَنَا عَلِيُّ بْنُ عَاصِمٍ حَدَّثَنِي أَبُو رَيْحَانَةَ قَالَ أَبِي وَسَمَّاهُ عَلِيٌّ عَبْدَ اللَّهِ بْنَ مَطَرٍ قَالَ أَخْبَرَنِي سَفِينَةُ مَوْلَى رَسُولِ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ أَنَّ رَسُولَ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ كَانَ يُوَضِّئُهُ الْمُدُّ وَيَغْسِلُهُ الصَّاعُ مِنْ الْجَنَابَةِ.
English Translation
'Ali b. 'Asim told us: Abu Rayhanah told me — my father said, and 'Ali named him 'Abdullah b. Matar — he said: Safinah, the mawla of the Messenger of Allah, peace and blessings be upon him, informed me, that the Messenger of Allah, peace and blessings be upon him, used to perform ablution with a mudd and wash from major ritual impurity with a sa'.
