حَدَّثَنَا أَبُو مُعَاوِيَةَ حَدَّثَنَا الْأَعْمَشُ عَنِ الْمَعْرُورِ بْنِ سُوَيْدٍ عَنْ أَبِي ذَرٍّ قَالَ قَالَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ إِنِّي لَأَعْرِفُ آخِرَ أَهْلِ النَّارِ خُرُوجًا مِنْ النَّارِ وَآخِرَ أَهْلِ الْجَنَّةِ دُخُولًا الْجَنَّةَ يُؤْتَى بِرَجُلٍ فَيَقُولُ نَحُّوا كِبَارَ ذُنُوبِهِ وَسَلُوهُ عَنْ صِغَارِهَا قَالَ فَيُقَالُ لَهُ عَمِلْتَ كَذَا يَوْمَ كَذَا وَكَذَا وَعَمِلْتَ كَذَا يَوْمَ كَذَا وَكَذَا قَالَ فَيَقُولُ يَا رَبِّ لَقَدْ عَمِلْتُ أَشْيَاءَ لَمْ أَرَهَا هُنَا قَالَ فَضَحِكَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ حَتَّى بَدَتْ نَوَاجِذُهُ قَالَ فَيُقَالُ لَهُ فَإِنَّ لَكَ مَكَانَ كُلِّ سَيِّئَةٍ حَسَنَةً.
English Translation
Abu Mu'awiyah told us, al-A'mash told us, from al-Ma'rur ibn Suwayd, from Abu Dharr, who said: The Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) said: "I indeed know the last of the people of the Fire to come out of the Fire, and the last of the people of Paradise to enter Paradise. A man will be brought and it will be said: 'Set aside his major sins, and ask him about his minor ones.' It will be said to him: 'You did such-and-such on such-and-such a day, and you did such-and-such on such-and-such a day.'" He said: "So he will say: 'O my Lord, I indeed did things I do not see here.'" He said: "The Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) laughed until his molars appeared." He said: "Then it will be said to him: 'You shall have, in place of every bad deed, a good deed.'"
