حَدَّثَنَا أَبُو عَامِرٍ حَدَّثَنَا شُعْبَةُ عَنْ بُدَيْلِ بْنِ مَيْسَرَةَ قَالَ سَمِعْتُ أَبَا الْعَالِيَةِ الْبَرَّاءَ عَنْ عَبْدِ اللَّهِ بْنِ الصَّامِتِ عَنْ أَبِي ذَرٍّ أَنَّ النَّبِيَّ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ ضَرَبَ فَخِذَهُ وَقَالَ لَهُ كَيْفَ أَنْتَ إِذَا بَقِيتَ فِي قَوْمٍ يُؤَخِّرُونَ الصَّلَاةَ ثُمَّ قَالَ صَلِّ الصَّلَاةَ لِوَقْتِهَا ثُمَّ انْهَضْ فَإِنْ كُنْتَ فِي الْمَسْجِدِ حَتَّى تُقَامَ الصَّلَاةُ فَصَلِّ مَعَهُمْ.
English Translation
Abu 'Amir told us, Shu'bah told us, from Budayl ibn Maysarah, who said: I heard Abu al-'Aliyah al-Barra' narrating from Abd Allah ibn al-Samit, from Abu Dharr, that the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) struck his thigh and said to him: "How will you be if you remain among a people who delay the prayer?" Then he said: "Pray the prayer at its proper time, then get up; but if you are still in the mosque when the prayer is established, then pray along with them."
