حَدَّثَنَا مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ جَعْفَرٍ حَدَّثَنَا شُعْبَةُ عَنْ أَيُّوبَ عَنْ أَبِي الْعَالِيَةِ الْبَرَّاءِ عَنْ عَبْدِ اللَّهِ بْنِ الصَّامِتِ عَنْ أَبِي ذَرٍّ عَنْ النَّبِيِّ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ أَنَّهُ قَالَ يَا أَبَا ذَرٍّ كَيْفَ أَنْتَ إِذَا بَقِيتَ فِي قَوْمٍ يُؤَخِّرُونَ الصَّلَاةَ عَنْ وَقْتِهَا قَالَ فَقَالَ لِي صَلِّ الصَّلَاةَ لِوَقْتِهَا فَإِنْ أَدْرَكْتَهُمْ لَمْ يُصَلُّوا فَصَلِّ مَعَهُمْ وَلَا تَقُلْ إِنِّي قَدْ صَلَّيْتُ وَلَا أُصَلِّي.
English Translation
Muhammad ibn Ja'far told us, Shu'bah told us, from Ayyub, from Abu al-'Aliyah al-Barra', from Abd Allah ibn al-Samit, from Abu Dharr, from the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him), that he said: "O Abu Dharr, how will you be if you remain among a people who delay the prayer past its time?" He said: He said to me: "Pray the prayer at its proper time, and if you find them not yet having prayed, then pray along with them, and do not say, 'I have already prayed, so I will not pray.'"
