حَدَّثَنَا أَبُو سَعْدٍ مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ مُيَسَّرٍ الصَّاغَانِيُّ حَدَّثَنَا أَبُو جَعْفَرٍ الرَّازِيُّ عَنْ الرَّبِيعِ بْنِ أَنَسٍ عَنْ أَبِي الْعَالِيَةِ عَنْ أُبَيِّ بْنِ كَعْبٍ أَنَّ الْمُشْرِكِينَ قَالُوا لِلنَّبِيِّ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ يَا مُحَمَّدُ انْسُبْ لَنَا رَبَّكَ فَأَنْزَلَ اللَّهُ تَبَارَكَ وَتَعَالَى { قُلْ هُوَ اللَّهُ أَحَدٌ اللَّهُ الصَّمَدُ لَمْ يَلِدْ وَلَمْ يُولَدْ وَلَمْ يَكُنْ لَهُ كُفُوًا أَحَدٌ }.
English Translation
Abu Sa'd Muhammad ibn Muyassar al-Saghani told us, Abu Ja'far al-Razi told us, from al-Rabi' ibn Anas, from Abu al-Aliyah, from Ubayy ibn Ka'b, that the polytheists said to the Prophet, peace and blessings be upon him, "O Muhammad, describe for us the lineage of your Lord." So Allah, blessed and exalted is He, revealed: "Say, He is Allah, the One. Allah, the Eternal Refuge. He neither begets nor is born, nor is there to Him any equal."
