English Translation
'Affan told us, Wuhayb told us, Khalid al-Hadhdha' told us, from Abu Tamima al-Hujaymi, from a man of Bal-Hujaym, who said: I said, "O Messenger of Allah, what do you call to?" He said: "I call to Allah alone, who, if harm touches you and you call upon Him, removes it from you; and who, if you are lost in a barren land and you call upon Him, brings you back; and who, if a year of drought befalls you and you call upon Him, causes growth for you." I said, "Then advise me." He said: "Do not revile anyone, and do not disdain any act of kindness, even meeting your brother with a cheerful face turned toward him, or pouring from your bucket into the vessel of one seeking water. And wear your lower garment down to mid-shin; if you cannot, then to the ankles; and beware of trailing the lower garment, for trailing the lower garment is a form of vanity, and Allah, Blessed and Exalted, does not love vanity."
