English Translation

Sulayman ibn Dawud told us, Shu'bah told us, Ali ibn Zayd informed me, he said: I heard Abd al-Rahman ibn Abi Bakrah narrating from his father, who said: It was said: "O Messenger of Allah, who among people is best?" He said: "He whose life is long and whose deeds are good." It was said: "O Messenger of Allah, who among people is worst?" He said: "He whose life is long and whose deeds are evil." Abu Nu'aym told us, Zuhayr ibn Mu'awiyah told us, from Ali ibn Zayd, from Abd al-Rahman ibn Abi Bakrah, from his father, who said: The Prophet, peace and blessings be upon him, was asked: "Who among people is best?" and he mentioned the like of it.
