حَدَّثَنَا وَكِيعٌ عَنْ إِسْمَاعِيلَ بْنِ أَبِي خَالِدٍ قَالَ سَمِعْتُ إِسْمَاعِيلَ الْبَصْرِيَّ يُحَدِّثُ عَنْ ابْنَةِ مَعْقِلِ بْنِ يَسَارٍ عَنْ أَبِيهَا مَعْقِلٍ قَالَ سَمِعْتُ رَسُولَ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ يَقُولُ لَيْسَ مِنْ وَالِي أُمَّةٍ قَلَّتْ أَوْ كَثُرَتْ لَا يَعْدِلُ فِيهَا إِلَّا كَبَّهُ اللَّهُ تَبَارَكَ وَتَعَالَى عَلَى وَجْهِهِ فِي النَّارِ.
English Translation
Waki' told us, from Isma'il ibn Abi Khalid, who said: I heard Isma'il al-Basri narrating from the daughter of Ma'qil ibn Yasar, from her father Ma'qil, who said: I heard the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) say: "There is no ruler over a community, whether it be small or great, who does not act justly among them, except that Allah, Blessed and Exalted, will cast him down on his face into the Fire."
