English Translation
Waki' told us: Mis'ar told us, from Abu Ayyub, freedman of Banu Tha'labah, from Qutbah ibn Malik, who said: One of the commanders reviled Ali, may Allah be pleased with him, so Zayd ibn Arqam stood up and said: Do you not know that the Messenger of Allah, peace and blessings be upon him, forbade reviling the dead — so why do you revile Ali when he has died?
