حَدَّثَنَا يَحْيَى بْنُ زَكَرِيَّا وَهُوَ ابْنُ أَبِي زَائِدَةَ حَدَّثَنَا أَبُو حَيَّانَ التَّيْمِيُّ عَنِ الضَّحَّاكِ خَالِ الْمُنْذِرِ عَنْ مُنْذِرِ بْنِ جَرِيرٍ عَنْ جَرِيرِ بْنِ عَبْدِ اللَّهِ قَالَ سَمِعْتُ رَسُولَ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ يَقُولُ لَا يَأْوِي الضَّالَّةَ إِلَّا ضَالٌّ.
English Translation
Yahya ibn Zakariyya - that is Ibn Abi Za'ida - told us: Abu Hayyan al-Taymi told us, from al-Dahhak, the maternal uncle of al-Mundhir, from Mundhir ibn Jarir, from Jarir ibn Abdullah, who said: I heard the Messenger of Allah, peace and blessings be upon him, say, "None shelters a stray animal except one who is himself astray."
