قَالَ قَرَأْتُ عَلَى عَبْدِ الرَّحْمَنِ بْنِ مَهْدِيٍّ : مَالِكٌ عَنْ نُعَيْمِ بْنِ عَبْدِ اللَّهِ الْمُجْمِرِ عَنْ عَلِيِّ بْنِ يَحْيَى الزُّرَقِيِّ عَنْ أَبِيهِ عَنْ رِفَاعَةَ بْنِ رَافِعٍ الزُّرَقِيِّ قَالَ كُنَّا نُصَلِّي يَوْمًا وَرَاءَ رَسُولِ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ فَلَمَّا رَفَعَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ رَأْسَهُ مِنْ الرَّكْعَةِ وَقَالَ سَمِعَ اللَّهُ لِمَنْ حَمِدَهُ قَالَ رَجُلٌ وَرَاءَهُ رَبَّنَا لَكَ الْحَمْدُ حَمْدًا كَثِيرًا طَيِّبًا مُبَارَكًا فِيهِ فَلَمَّا انْصَرَفَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ قَالَ مَنْ الْمُتَكَلِّمُ آنِفًا قَالَ الرَّجُلُ أَنَا يَا رَسُولَ اللَّهِ فَقَالَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ لَقَدْ رَأَيْتُ بِضْعَةً وَثَلَاثِينَ مَلَكًا يَبْتَدِرُونَهَا أَيُّهُمْ يَكْتُبُهَا أَوَّلًا.
English Translation
He said: I read out to Abd al-Rahman ibn Mahdi: Malik, from Nu'aym ibn Abdullah al-Mujmir, from Ali ibn Yahya al-Zuraqi, from his father, from Rifa'ah ibn Rafi' al-Zuraqi, who said: We were praying one day behind the Messenger of Allah, peace and blessings be upon him. When the Messenger of Allah, peace and blessings be upon him, raised his head from the bowing, he said, "Allah hears whoever praises Him." A man behind him said, "Our Lord, to You is praise, abundant, good, and blessed praise." When the Messenger of Allah, peace and blessings be upon him, finished the prayer, he said, "Who was the speaker just now?" The man said, "It was I, O Messenger of Allah." The Messenger of Allah, peace and blessings be upon him, said: "I indeed saw over thirty angels racing to see which of them would write it down first."
