English Translation
Yazid ibn Harun told us, he said: Muhammad ibn Amr informed us, from Ali ibn Yahya ibn Khallad al-Zuraqi, from Rifa'a ibn Rafi' al-Zuraqi, who was one of the Companions of the Prophet, peace and blessings be upon him, who said: A man came while the Messenger of Allah, peace and blessings be upon him, was sitting in the mosque, and he prayed near him, then he came over to the Messenger of Allah, peace and blessings be upon him. The Messenger of Allah, peace and blessings be upon him, said, "Go back and repeat your prayer, for you have not prayed." He said: So he went back and prayed similarly to how he had prayed before, then came over to the Messenger of Allah, peace and blessings be upon him, and he said to him, "Go back and repeat your prayer, for you have not prayed." So he said, "O Messenger of Allah, teach me how to do it." He said, "When you face the qibla, say the takbir, then recite the Opening of the Book, then recite whatever you wish. When you bow, place your palms upon your knees, stretch out your back, and settle firmly into your bowing. When you raise your head, straighten your spine until the bones return to their joints. When you prostrate, settle firmly into your prostration. When you raise your head, sit upon your left thigh. Then do that in every rak'ah and every prostration."
