English Translation
And I heard him forbid gossip and idle talk, excessive questioning, wasting wealth, burying daughters alive, undutifulness to mothers, and withholding what is due while demanding what is not due. Ali told us, al-Jurayri informed us, from Abdah, from Warrad, from al-Mughirah ibn Shu'bah, from the Prophet, peace and blessings be upon him, that when he gave the salutation he would say: "There is no god but God alone, without partner, His is the dominion and His is the praise, and He is powerful over all things. O God, none can withhold what You give, and none can give what You withhold" — like the hadith of al-Mughirah, except that he did not mention the burying of daughters.
