English Translation
Abu al-Nadr narrated to us: Hariz narrated to us, from Abd al-Rahman ibn Maysarah, from Jubayr ibn Nufayr, from Busr ibn Jahhash al-Qurashi, that the Prophet, peace and blessings be upon him, spat one day into his palm and placed his finger upon it, then said: 'Allah says: "O son of Adam, how can you escape Me, when I created you from something like this? Then when I fashioned you and proportioned you, you walked about between two garments, with the earth resounding beneath your tread; then you gathered and withheld, until when your soul reached your collarbones, you said: 'I will give in charity' — but what time is there now for charity?"' Hasan ibn Musa narrated to us, saying: Hariz narrated to us, from Abd al-Rahman ibn Maysarah, from Jubayr ibn Nufayr, from Busr ibn Jahhash al-Qurashi, who said: The Prophet, peace and blessings be upon him, spat upon his palm and said: 'O son of Adam...' and he related its meaning.
