حَدَّثَنَا الْحَكَمُ بْنُ نَافِعٍ حَدَّثَنَا إِسْمَاعِيلُ بْنُ عَيَّاشٍ عَنْ ضَمْضَمِ بْنِ زُرْعَةَ عَنْ شُرَيْحِ بْنِ عُبَيْدٍ عَنْ كَثِيرِ بْنِ مُرَّةَ عَنْ عُتْبَةَ بْنِ عَبْدٍ أَنَّ النَّبِيَّ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ قَالَ الْخِلَافَةُ فِي قُرَيْشٍ وَالْحُكْمُ فِي الْأَنْصَارِ وَالدَّعْوَةُ فِي الْحَبَشَةِ وَالْهِجْرَةُ فِي الْمُسْلِمِينَ وَالْمُهَاجِرِينَ بَعْدُ.
English Translation
Al-Hakam ibn Nafi' told us: Isma'il ibn Ayyash told us, from Damdam ibn Zur'ah, from Shurayh ibn Ubayd, from Kathir ibn Murrah, from Utbah ibn Abd, that the Prophet, peace and blessings be upon him, said: 'The caliphate is among the Quraysh, judgment/authority is among the Ansar, the call is among the Abyssinians, and migration is among the Muslims and the emigrants who come after.'
