حَدَّثَنَا يَزِيدُ بْنُ عَبْدِ رَبِّهِ قَالَ حَدَّثَنَا الْوَلِيدُ بْنُ مُسْلِمٍ عَنْ مُحَمَّدِ بْنِ مُهَاجِرٍ عَنْ الْوَلِيدِ بْنِ عَبْدِ الرَّحْمَنِ الْجُرَشِيِّ عَنْ جُبَيْرِ بْنِ نُفَيْرٍ قَالَ سَمِعْتُ النَّوَّاسَ بْنَ سَمْعَانَ الْكِلَابِيَّ يَقُولُ سَمِعْتُ رَسُولَ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ يَقُولُ يُؤْتَى بِالْقُرْآنِ يَوْمَ الْقِيَامَةِ وَأَهْلِهِ الَّذِينَ كَانُوا يَعْمَلُونَ بِهِ تَقَدَّمُهُمْ سُورَةُ الْبَقَرَةِ وَآلِ عِمْرَانَ وَضَرَبَ لَهُمَا رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ ثَلَاثَةَ أَمْثَالٍ مَا نَسِيتُهُنَّ بَعْدُ قَالَ كَأَنَّهُمَا غَمَامَتَانِ أَوْ ظُلَّتَانِ أَوْ سَوْدَاوَانِ بَيْنَهُمَا شَرْقٌ كَأَنَّهُمَا فِرْقَانِ مِنْ طَيْرٍ صَوَافَّ يُحَاجَّانِ عَنْ صَاحِبِهِمَا.
English Translation
Yazid ibn Abd Rabbihi narrated to us, he said: Al-Walid ibn Muslim narrated to us, from Muhammad ibn Muhajir, from al-Walid ibn Abd al-Rahman al-Jurashi, from Jubayr ibn Nufayr, who said: I heard al-Nawwas ibn Sam'an al-Kilabi say: I heard the Messenger of Allah, peace and blessings be upon him, say: 'The Qur'an will be brought on the Day of Resurrection, along with its people who used to act upon it, preceded by Surat al-Baqarah and Al Imran.' And the Messenger of Allah, peace and blessings be upon him, struck for them three parables which I have not forgotten since. He said: 'As if they were two clouds, or two shades, or two black patches with a streak of light between them, as if they were two flocks of birds in ranks, pleading on behalf of their reciter.'
