حَدَّثَنَا رَوْحٌ قَالَ حَدَّثَنَا عَبْدُ الْحَمِيدِ بْنُ بَهْرَامَ قَالَ سَمِعْتُ شَهْرَ بْنَ حَوْشَبٍ قَالَ حَدَّثَنِي أَبُو ظَبْيَةَ قَالَ قَالَ عَمْرُو بْنُ عَبَسَةَ سَمِعْتُ رَسُولَ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ يَقُولُ أَيُّمَا رَجُلٍ مُسْلِمٍ رَمَى بِسَهْمٍ فِي سَبِيلِ اللَّهِ عَزَّ وَجَلَّ فَبَلَغَ مُخْطِئًا أَوْ مُصِيبًا فَلَهُ مِنْ الْأَجْرِ كَرَقَبَةٍ أَعْتَقَهَا مِنْ وَلَدِ إِسْمَاعِيلَ.
English Translation
Rawh told us, saying: Abd al-Hamid ibn Bahram told us, saying: I heard Shahr ibn Hawshab say: Abu Zabyah told me, saying: Amr ibn Abasah said: I heard the Messenger of Allah, peace and blessings be upon him, say: "Any Muslim man who shoots an arrow in the way of Allah, Mighty and Majestic, and it reaches (the target), whether missing or hitting, has the reward like a slave he freed from the descendants of Isma'il."
