قَالَ حَدَّثَنَا إِسْمَاعِيلُ بْنُ إِبْرَاهِيمَ قَالَ أَخْبَرَنَا أَيُّوبُ عَنْ عَبْدِ اللَّهِ بْنِ أَبِي مُلَيْكَةَ قَالَ حَدَّثَنِي عُبَيْدُ بْنُ أَبِي مَرْيَمَ عَنْ عُقْبَةَ بْنِ الْحَارِثِ قَالَ وَقَدْ سَمِعْتُهُ مِنْ عُقْبَةَ وَلَكِنِّي لِحَدِيثِ عُبَيْدٍ أَحْفَظُ قَالَ تَزَوَّجْتُ فَجَاءَتْنَا امْرَأَةٌ سَوْدَاءُ فَقَالَتْ إِنِّي قَدْ أَرْضَعْتُكُمَا فَأَتَيْتُ النَّبِيَّ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ فَقُلْتُ إِنِّي تَزَوَّجْتُ امْرَأَةً فُلَانَةَ ابْنَةَ فُلَانٍ فَجَاءَتْنَا امْرَأَةٌ سَوْدَاءُ فَقَالَتْ إِنِّي أَرْضَعْتُكُمَا وَهِيَ كَافِرَةٌ فَأَعْرَضَ عَنِّي فَأَتَيْتُهُ مِنْ قِبَلِ وَجْهِهِ فَقُلْتُ إِنَّهَا كَاذِبَةٌ فَقَالَ لِي كَيْفَ بِهَا وَقَدْ زَعَمَتْ أَنَّهَا أَرْضَعَتْكُمَا دَعْهَا عَنْكَ.
English Translation
He said: Isma'il ibn Ibrahim told us, he said: Ayyub informed us, from 'Abdullah ibn Abi Mulaykah, who said: 'Ubayd ibn Abi Maryam told me, from 'Uqbah ibn al-Harith - he said: I also heard it from 'Uqbah himself, but I remember 'Ubayd's account better - he said: I got married, and a black woman came to us and said: "I have suckled you both." So I went to the Prophet, peace and blessings be upon him, and said: "I have married so-and-so, daughter of so-and-so, and a black woman came to us and said, 'I suckled you both,' and she is a disbeliever." He turned away from me. So I came to him from in front of his face and said: "She is lying." He said to me: "How can it be, when she has claimed that she suckled you both? Leave her."
