حَدَّثَنَا أَبُو سَعِيدٍ مَوْلَى بَنِي هَاشِمٍ قَالَ حَدَّثَنَا الْمُثَنَّى بْنُ سَعِيدٍ قَالَ حَدَّثَنَا قَتَادَةُ عَنْ أَبِي الطُّفَيْلِ عَنْ حُذَيْفَةَ بْنِ أَسِيدٍ أَنَّ رَسُولَ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ جَاءَ ذَاتَ يَوْمٍ فَقَالَ صَلُّوا عَلَى أَخٍ لَكُمْ مَاتَ بِغَيْرِ أَرْضِكُمْ قَالُوا مَنْ هُوَ يَا رَسُولَ اللَّهِ قَالَ صُحْمَةُ النَّجَاشِيُّ فَقَامُوا فَصَلَّوْا عَلَيْهِ.
English Translation
Abu Sa'id, the freed slave of Banu Hashim, told us, he said: Al-Muthanna ibn Sa'id told us, he said: Qatadah told us, from Abu al-Tufayl, from Hudhayfah ibn Asid: that the Messenger of Allah, peace and blessings be upon him, came one day and said: "Pray over a brother of yours who has died in a land other than your land." They said: "Who is he, O Messenger of Allah?" He said: "Suhmah, the Negus." So they stood and prayed over him.
