حَدَّثَنَا بَكْرُ بْنُ عِيسَى أَبُو بِشْرٍ الْبَصْرِيُّ الرَّاسِبِيُّ قَالَ حَدَّثَنَا أَبُو عَوَانَةَ قَالَ حَدَّثَنَا أَبُو مَالِكٍ الْأَشْجَعِيُّ قَالَ سَمِعْتُ أَبِي وَسَأَلْتُهُ فَقَالَ كَانَ خِضَابُنَا مَعَ رَسُولِ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ الْوَرْسَ وَالزَّعْفَرَانَ.
English Translation
Bakr ibn Isa Abu Bishr al-Basri al-Rasibi narrated to us: Abu Awanah narrated to us: Abu Malik al-Ashja'i narrated to us, he said: I heard my father, and I asked him, and he said: Our dye, in the time of the Messenger of God, peace and blessings be upon him, was wars and saffron.
