حَدَّثَنَا عَبْدُ الصَّمَدِ حَدَّثَنَا حَمَّادٌ يَعْنِي ابْنَ سَلَمَةَ عَنْ عِكْرِمَةَ يَعْنِي ابْنَ خَالِدٍ عَنْ أَبِيهِ أَوْ عَنْ عَمِّهِ عَنْ جَدِّهِ أَنَّ رَسُولَ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ قَالَ فِي غَزْوَةِ تَبُوكَ إِذَا وَقَعَ الطَّاعُونُ بِأَرْضٍ وَأَنْتُمْ بِهَا فَلَا تَخْرُجُوا مِنْهَا وَإِذَا كَانَ بِأَرْضٍ وَلَسْتُمْ بِهَا فَلَا تَقْرَبُوهَا.
English Translation
Abd al-Samad told us: Hammad - meaning Ibn Salamah - told us, from Ikrimah - meaning Ibn Khalid - from his father, or from his uncle, from his grandfather, that the Messenger of Allah, peace and blessings be upon him, said during the campaign of Tabuk: "If plague breaks out in a land while you are in it, do not leave it; and if it is in a land while you are not in it, do not approach it."
