حَدَّثَنَا يَحْيَى بْنُ سَعِيدٍ عَنْ التَّيْمِيِّ يَعْنِي سُلَيْمَانَ عَنْ أَبِي عُثْمَانَ يَعْنِي النَّهْدِيَّ عَنْ عَامِرِ بْنِ مَالِكٍ عَنْ صَفْوَانَ بْنِ أُمَيَّةَ قَالَ الطَّاعُونُ وَالْبَطْنُ وَالْغَرَقُ وَالنُّفَسَاءُ شَهَادَةٌ حَدَّثَنَا بِهِ أَبُو عُثْمَانَ مِرَارًا وَقَدْ رَفَعَهُ إِلَى النَّبِيِّ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ مَرَّةً.
English Translation
Yahya ibn Sa'id told us, from al-Taymi — that is, Sulayman — from Abu Uthman — that is, al-Nahdi — from Amir ibn Malik, from Safwan ibn Umayyah, who said: "Plague, the abdomen [disease], drowning, and death in childbirth are martyrdom." Abu Uthman narrated this to us many times, and once he raised it to the Prophet, peace and blessings be upon him.
