حَدَّثَنَا أَبُو سَلَمَةَ الْخُزَاعِيُّ حَدَّثَنَا سُلَيْمَانُ بْنُ بِلَالٍ عَنْ عَبْدِ الرَّحْمَنِ بْنِ عَطَاءٍ أَنَّ عَبْدَ الْمَلِكِ بْنَ جَابِرِ بْنِ عَتِيكٍ أَخْبَرَهُ أَنَّ جَابِرَ بْنَ عَبْدِ اللَّهِ أَخْبَرَهُ أَنَّهُ سَمِعَ النَّبِيَّ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ يَقُولُ إِذَا حُدِّثَ الْإِنْسَانُ حَدِيثًا وَالْمُحَدِّثُ يَلْتَفِتُ حَوْلَهُ فَهُوَ أَمَانَةٌ.
English Translation
Abu Salamah al-Khuza'i told us, Sulayman ibn Bilal told us, from Abd al-Rahman ibn Ata', that Abd al-Malik ibn Jabir ibn Atik informed him, that Jabir ibn Abdullah informed him that he heard the Prophet, peace and blessings be upon him, say: "When a man is told something and the one telling him looks around [to see if anyone is listening], it is a trust to be kept confidential."
