English Translation
Muhammad ibn Abi Adi told us, from Sulayman al-Taymi, from Abu Nadrah, from Jabir, who said: The Messenger of Allah, peace and blessings be upon him, used to stand at the base of a tree — or he said, by a trunk — then he took up a pulpit. Jabir said: The trunk moaned until the people of the mosque heard it, until the Messenger of Allah, peace and blessings be upon him, came to it and wiped it, so it became still. Some of them said: "Had he not come to it, it would have moaned forever until the Day of Resurrection."
