حَدَّثَنَا عَفَّانُ حَدَّثَنَا أَبَانُ حَدَّثَنَا قَتَادَةُ عَنْ أَنَسِ بْنِ مَالِكٍ قَالَ كَانَ حَارِثَةُ أُصِيبَ يَوْمَ بَدْرٍ فَقَالَتْ أُمُّ حَارِثَةَ يَا نَبِيَّ اللَّهِ إِنْ كَانَ ابْنِي أَصَابَ الْجَنَّةَ وَإِلَّا أَجْهَدْتُ عَلَيْهِ بِالْبُكَاءِ قَالَ يَا أُمَّ حَارِثَةَ إِنَّهَا جِنَانٌ كَثِيرَةٌ فِي جَنَّةٍ وَإِنَّ حَارِثَةَ أَصَابَ الْفِرْدَوْسَ الْأَعْلَى.
English Translation
The Prophet (peace be upon him) said: 'Whoever possesses three qualities will find the sweetness of faith: that Allah and His Messenger are more beloved to him than all else; that he loves a person only for the sake of Allah; and that he would hate to return to disbelief just as he would hate to be thrown into the Fire.'
