حَدَّثَنَا عَفَّانُ حَدَّثَنَا حَمَّادُ بْنُ سَلَمَةَ قَالَ أَخْبَرَنَا ثَابِتٌ أَنَّهُمْ سَأَلُوا أَنَسَ بْنَ مَالِكٍ أَكَانَ لِرَسُولِ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ خَاتَمٌ فَقَالَ نَعَمْ ثُمَّ قَالَ أَخَّرَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ عِشَاءَ الْآخِرَةِ ذَاتَ لَيْلَةٍ حَتَّى كَادَ يَذْهَبُ شَطْرُ اللَّيْلِ فَقَالَ إِنَّ النَّاسَ قَدْ صَلُّوا وَنَامُوا وَإِنَّكُمْ لَمْ تَزَالُوا فِي صَلَاةٍ مَا انْتَظَرْتُمْ الصَّلَاةَ قَالَ أَنَسٌ وَكَأَنِّي أَنْظُرُ إِلَى وَبِيصِ خَاتَمِهِ وَرَفَعَ يَدَهُ الْيُسْرَى.
English Translation
'Affan told us, Hammad ibn Salamah told us, who said: Thabit told us that they asked Anas ibn Malik: "Did the Messenger of God, peace and blessings be upon him, have a ring?" He said: "Yes." Then he said: The Messenger of God, peace and blessings be upon him, delayed the last night prayer one night until nearly half the night had passed, then said: "The people have prayed and gone to sleep, but you have remained in prayer as long as you were waiting for the prayer." Anas said: "And it is as if I can still see the gleam of his ring as he raised his left hand."
