English Translation
Ya'qub told us: My father told us, from Ibn Ishaq, who said: Asim ibn Umar ibn Qatada al-Ansari, then al-Zafari, told me, from Anas ibn Malik al-Ansari, who said: I heard him say: No one was more eager to hasten the Asr prayer than the Messenger of God, peace and blessings be upon him. Even the two men of the Ansar whose houses were farthest from the mosque of the Messenger of God, peace and blessings be upon him - Abu Lubaba ibn Abd al-Mundhir, brother of Banu Amr ibn Awf, and Abu Abs ibn Jabr, brother of Banu Haritha, whose house was in Quba, or the house of Abu Abs ibn Jabr in Banu Haritha - would pray Asr with the Messenger of God, peace and blessings be upon him, and then come to their people who had not yet prayed it, because of how early the Messenger of God, peace and blessings be upon him, performed it.
