حَدَّثَنَا أَبُو الْيَمَانِ أَنْبَأَنَا شُعَيْبٌ عَنِ الزُّهْرِيِّ أَخْبَرَنِي عَبْدُ اللَّهِ بْنُ مُحَيْرِيزٍ الْجُمَحِيُّ أَنَّ أَبَا سَعِيدٍ الْخُدْرِيَّ أَخْبَرَهُ أَنَّهُ بَيْنَا هُوَ جَالِسٌ عِنْدَ النَّبِيِّ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ جَاءَ رَجُلٌ مِنْ الْأَنْصَارِ فَقَالَ يَا رَسُولَ اللَّهِ إِنَّا نُصِيبُ سَبْيًا فَنُحِبُّ الْإِثْمَانَ فَكَيْفَ تَرَى فِي الْعَزْلِ فَقَالَ النَّبِيُّ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ وَإِنَّكُمْ لَتَفْعَلُونَ ذَلِكُمْ لَا عَلَيْكُمْ أَنْ لَا تَفْعَلُوا ذَلِكُمْ فَإِنَّهَا لَيْسَتْ نَسَمَةٌ كَتَبَ اللَّهُ أَنْ تَخْرُجَ إِلَّا هِيَ خَارِجَةٌ حَدَّثَنَا مُعَاوِيَةُ حَدَّثَنَا أَبُو إِسْحَاقَ عَنِ الْأَوْزاعِيِّ حَدَّثَنَا الزُّهْرِيُّ عَنْ عَطَاءٍ عَنْ أَبِي سَعِيدٍ الْخُدْرِيِّ قَالَ سَأَلَ رَجُلٌ رَسُولَ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ أَيُّ النَّاسِ أَفْضَلُ فَذَكَرَ مَعْنَى حَدِيثِ شُعَيْبٍ.
English Translation
Abu al-Yaman told us, Shu'ayb informed us, from al-Zuhri: Abdullah ibn Muhayriz al-Jumahi informed me that Abu Sa'id al-Khudri informed him that, while he was sitting with the Prophet, peace and blessings be upon him, a man from the Ansar came and said: "O Messenger of Allah, we take captives and we desire their price, so what do you think about coitus interruptus?" The Prophet, peace and blessings be upon him, said: "Do you indeed do that? There is no blame on you if you do not do that, for there is no soul that Allah has decreed will come into being, except that it will come into being." Mu'awiya told us, Abu Ishaq told us, from al-Awza'i, al-Zuhri told us, from Ata', from Abu Sa'id al-Khudri, who said: "A man asked the Messenger of Allah, peace and blessings be upon him, which people are best," and he mentioned the meaning of the hadith of Shu'ayb.
