حَدَّثَنَا مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ جَعْفَرٍ حَدَّثَنَا شُعْبَةُ عَنْ عَبْدِ الرَّحْمَنِ بْنِ الْأَصْبَهَانِيِّ عَنْ ذَكْوَانَ عَنْ أَبِي سَعِيدٍ الْخُدْرِيِّ أَنَّ النِّسَاءَ قُلْنَ غَلَبَنَا عَلَيْكَ الرِّجَالُ يَا رَسُولَ اللَّهِ فَاجْعَلْ لَنَا يَوْمًا يَا رَسُولَ اللَّهِ نَأْتِيكَ فِيهِ فَوَاعَدَهُنَّ مِيعَادًا فَأَمَرَهُنَّ وَوَعَظَهُنَّ وَقَالَ مَا مِنْكُنَّ امْرَأَةٌ يَمُوتُ لَهَا ثَلَاثَةٌ مِنْ الْوَلَدِ إِلَّا كَانُوا لَهَا حِجَابًا مِنْ النَّارِ فَقَالَتْ امْرَأَةٌ أَوْ اثْنَانِ فَإِنَّهُ مَاتَ لِي اثْنَانِ فَقَالَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ أَوْ اثْنَانِ.
English Translation
Muhammad ibn Ja'far told us, Shu'bah told us, from 'Abd al-Rahman ibn al-Asbahani, from Dhakwan, from Abu Sa'id al-Khudri, that the women said, "The men have overwhelmed you; so appoint for us a day, O Messenger of Allah, on which we may come to you." So he set an appointed time for them, and he instructed them and admonished them, and said, "There is no woman among you whose three children die but that they will be a shield for her from the Fire." A woman said, "Or two?" - for two of hers had died. The Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) said, "Or two."
